Elon Musk’s X Platform Suffers Major Outage, Users Locked Out
Elon Musk’s social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, experienced a significant outage early Thursday, leaving tens of thousands of users unable to access the service. Reports began flooding in around 8:30 a.m. ET, with users unable to log in, view posts, or refresh feeds. Within 15 minutes, over 25,000 complaints were registered on Downdetector, a site tracking technical disruptions.
The platform remained silent for hours, offering no updates or explanations. Speculation swirled among users, with some suggesting a repeat of the March cyberattack that temporarily shut down the service. Musk had previously acknowledged frequent attacks on X, noting that the March incident required substantial resources to execute.
